Tripura assembly deputy speaker Biswabandhu Sen on Thursday flagged off a run from the Dharmanagar Girls’ School.
The run was organized as part of the Fit India Movement, a nation-wide campaign that aims at encouraging people to include fitness activities and sports in their everyday lives.
Hundreds of students enthusiastically participated in the run.
Biswabandhu Sen, who is also the Dharmanagar MLA said, “We need to exercise every day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants everyone to practice running to keep every citizen of India healthy and fit.”
“So we have to indulge in some form of physical exercises every day to be healthy and strong,” Sen said.
Sen said that when Modi’s dream of making every citizen of India healthy would come true, only then would the word Fit India really be applicable
Dharmanagar municipal council executive officer Kamlesh Dhar and North District education officer Ripon Chakraborty were also present on the occasion.
Narendra Modi had said that the Fit India Movement initiative is the need of the hour and will take the country towards a healthier future and is the only way to save the body from the attack of diseases.
