The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to keep the schools for students of classes 1 to 8 closed till March 2021 in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
It was decided by the government to do away with the final exams for the junior classes as a one time measure during the pandemic. It has been decided to evaluate the students of classes 1 to 8 on the basis of worksheets for the annual and half-yearly exams.
The notice by the school education department further added, “Commissioner State Education Center, Lokesh Kumar Jatav told that the worksheet will be given to children from Class 1 to 8.”
It was also announced that the evaluation of the half-yearly exams for students of classes 1 to 8 in Madhya Pradesh will be done in the month of January and the annual assessment in February and March.
Guidelines for the class 1 to 8 evaluation
In the notice tweeted by the School Education Department, MP, the guidelines for the half-yearly evaluation and annual board evaluation have also been mentioned. It has been mentioned that all the evaluations for this academic will be done through worksheets.
All students of classes 1 and 2 will be given a practice book from the schools with a worksheet that will contain questions from Hindi, English, and Mathematics. These worksheets will be collected by the teachers for yearly evaluation.
The worksheet for class 3 to 8 will have skill-based questions and project works. The worksheet will have spaces for answering questions and writing project work.
The School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh announced on Twitter, “Evaluation of students from class 1 to 8 in government schools in the state will be done on the basis of the worksheet.”
The schools in Madhya Pradesh were reopened for students of classes 10 to 12 on December 18. A parent-teacher meeting was also conducted on the same day where the upcoming board examination in Madhya Pradesh was discussed.
